Expedition Voyages
At Oceans Worldwide, we're proudly dedicated to discovery cruises and small-ship expedition voyages in Antarctica, the Arctic, Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans.
Whether you choose an expedition ship or an icebreaker, your vessel will provide the perfect base to venture into the world's wildest areas. It will move you quickly from bay to island to ice-choked channel, and provide a comfortable homecoming at the end of a day's exploring. Whatever your taste, we're confident that in our selection of voyages you'll find a blend of experiences and activities, both on and off the water, just to your liking.
Our expedition voyages to the Antarctic and Arctic focus on wildlife, wilderness and discovery. We offer smaller ships, so you can get closer to nature in safety and comfort, to explore Antarctica's towering icebergs and huge penguin colonies, and the breathtaking landscapes of the Arctic.
Is it a cruise or a voyage?
Oceans Worldwide cruising is different. You'll be on a small vessel that generally accommodates between 50 and 130 passengers (but sometimes even smaller), and is specially adapted for the conditions encountered. During the trip there will be a full programme of illustrated talks on a wide range of topics, presented by the on board team of experts and guides who will play a major role in making your expedition voyage a special one. |
Polar VoyagesYou can cruise the Antarctic Peninsula on the Polar Star - a 100-passenger vessel specially refurbished for expedition cruising or take a unique trip around Spitsbergen on a traditional sailing vessel, the Noorderlicht - just some of the fantastic experiences on offer.

Actually it's a bit of both. The impression that the word 'cruise' generally conjures up is one of a gigantic ship with hundreds of passengers sitting around a pool in the sun reading a book, being waited on hand and foot, or being disgorged into a foreign port! A voyage on the other hand suggests a certain amount of hardship in order to get anywhere or do anything - like Christopher Columbus's voyage to discover America!
