Description

There's a different world waiting for you in Shetland. The unmistakable beauty and charm of the rugged land and seascapes are truly breathtaking and coupled with the amazing diversity of wildlife and marine life that the area has to offer, this holiday is one not to be missed.

For the next seven days we will lose ourselves in these magical islands. Exploring the area by land and sea, we hope to have some wonderful encounters with magnificent wildlife. The surrounding waters are one of the best places within the British Isles for marine mammals. Regular visitors to the area and species we should see are Harbour Porpoise, Otters, Common and Grey Seals, and if we are lucky we may see Orcas hunting close inshore, a school of White-Sided Dolphins chasing a shoal of fish or even a Minke Whale. With luck on our side other species we may see include Pilot Whales, Sperm Whales and Risso's Dolphins.

There will also be plenty of opportunities for land based wildlife watching as we head to the National Nature Reserves of Sumburgh Head, Noss, and Hermaness - a birdwatcher's paradise. These three large seabird colonies are easily accessible and we will have close up encounters with tens of thousands of breeding Gannets alongside Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, Kittiwakes and Fulmars.
