Description
Explore the Queen Charlotte Islands aboard the comfortable 21-metre ketch 'Island Roamer', and visit Gwaii Haanas National Park. This eight or nine day ecoadventure through British Columbia's Haida Gwaii islands is an emotional journey through a past full of rich history. The ancient Haida village sites are powerful places, and the remarkable wildlife showcases the unique and diverse beauty of the British Columbia coastline.
Itinerary
- Day 1
- Meet at Sandspit (the previous night's accommodation in Sandspit is included in the cost of the trip). Transfer to Alliford Bay for the ferry to Graham Island, and visit the Haida Heritage Centre. Ferry back to Moresby Island and board 'Island Roamer'.
- Days 2-7
- Explore the eastern and southern shores of Moresby Island in the Queen Charlotte Islands, known locally as the Gwaii Hanaas. Daily activities include wildlife watching, shore excursions to explore ancient Haida villages, and walking the forests, beautiful creeks and shoreline. During the trip you'll hopefully spot humpback whales, orcas, dolphins, porpoises and sea lions. Each evening you'll anchor in a different secluded spot.
- Day 8 (or 9)
- Disembark early morning on Day 8 or 9 (depending on the itinerary); tour ends at Sandspit airport.

- What's included: 7 (or 8) nights shared cabin on Island Roamer; all meals on board; 1 night at a hotel close to Sandspit airport pre-cruise; all excursions with on board naturalist guide. NB: the 9-day itinerary includes an extra night on board Island Roamer.
- Flight inclusive package includes: International and domestic flights; courtesy shuttle bus transfers in Vancouver; 1 night at a hotel near Vancouver airport on room only basis before and after the cruise.
