Antarctic Express Air-Cruise
Departing from Ushuaia, at the southern tip of Argentina, you sail though the Beagle Channel past legendary Cape Horn and across the mythical waters of the Drake Passage, named after the great 16th century British explorer. On passing the Antarctic Convergence you enter the Antarctic Ocean to finally arrive at one of the most remote places on, earth - the coldest, highest, windiest, driest, and most inhospitable continent - Antarctica! Your reurn to the mainland is by plane from King George Island in the South Shetlands.

- Day 1.
- Board in Ushuaia, Argentina. Sail along the Beagle Channel towards Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world, on Navarino Island in Chile. Visit the island before continuing towards Cape Horn.
- Day 2
- After crossing Nassau Bay, wake in front of Cape Horn! Weather permitting, visit the lighthouse. Sail across the Drake Passage en route to the South Shetland Islands. Relax on board, and watch wildlife from the bridge or outside decks as you sail. You may spot albatrosses and petrels, as well as humpback and minke whales.
- Day 3.
- Sail through the Drake Passage, en route to King George Island (South Shetland Islands), relax on board and watch wildlife from the bridge - albatrosses and petrels, as well as Humpback and Minke whales.
- Day 4.
- Crossing the Antarctic Convergence, you will be sailing through the Antarctic Ocean. Spot your first icebergs, and make landfall in the South Shetland Islands - go ashore by Zodiac inflatable for your first taste of the Antarctic and visit a penguin colony. There's plenty of time to explore due to the endless daylight.
- Day 5.
- Reach King George Island and disembark at Fildes Bay, to enjoy the Antarctic scenery and visit the Chilean and Russian Bases of Frei and Base Bellingshausen. Fly to Punta Arenas, Chile. Tour ends on arrival at the airport. NB: on request, accommodation on a room only basis is provided in Punta Arenas tonight on a complimentary basis. We advise you to make use of this - in case of delay to the return flight from King George Island - rather than booking a late afternoon/evening flight out of Punta Arenas.
